Even though Lava Mermaids Summer League is in full swing, we will make room for anyone interested in playing. They will either join an already existing team in one of the cohorts or a new team will be created if numbers increase. Come out and play!

Summer League information:
Lava Mermaids Summer League will officially start in July, with our first 5 on 5 games being July 13 in Spruce Grove. Those players who have already been participating in the training will automatically have a spot reserved. The LMBC members who have not been training will need to register if they wish to participate. Any new players will also need to register. Everyone is welcome!
  • We will be building two 50 person Cohorts (divisions)
    • One u12/u13 cohort (2010 - 2007)
      • Younger athletes (u11, u9) will be considered depending on skill level
    • One u15/u16 cohort (2006 - 2004)
      • Some u13 athletes will be allowed to move up if desired
    • Older HS athletes cohorts will be determined shortly
  • Players will be split up into teams in their cohorts
    • likely between 8 and 10 players to maximize playtime
    • teams will earn points for victories, ties, etc. towards their season totals
  • 5 on 5 games will be played Mondays in Spruce Grove
    • Warmups and Dynamic will be done outside to ensure we limit the number of people inside the facility at a time
  • 3 on 3 Tournaments
    • We will host two 3 on 3 tournaments one July 25th one August 15th
    • 5 on 5 teams will be split into 2 teams to participate in 3 on 3
    • points will be awarded to the main teams season point total
  • Practices and Training will remain Tuesdays and Thursdays
    • Outdoors in Spruce Grove
    • Any changes will be based off how cohorts fill up
    • Boys practice will be Wednesdays
  • There will be a championship tournament in early September
    • Teams will be seeded based on their season points
  • Each player will receive
    • T-Shirt
    • Sunglasses
    • Bucket Hat
    • We will also be making old stock of gear available for sale at cost
      • Backpacks, shooting shirts, T-shirts, practice jerseys, shorts
  • Cost for Summer league will be $100
    • Payment plans and alternate arrangements are always available
    • We will not leave anyone out, so if there is an issue with the cost, please let me know

As part of the AHS phase 2 rollout, we are now allowed to run "mini-leagues" consisting of 50 player/coach cohorts. We will do everything in our power to ensure all players and their families are safe and comfortable during all club activities.

Here are the new rules and guidelines we have in place for Summer League:
  • If a player or anyone in their household or household cohort is showing symptoms please let us know ASAP and do not attend practices/games
  • Players are asked to go through the AHS Covid-19 self assessment checklist before each practice and game
  • All shared equipment will be sanitized by coaches before, during and after practices
    • Crash Pads, Balls, etc
  • Players are asked to bring their own hand sanitizer
    • Sanitize before, after practice/games
    • Sanitize before practice, during breaks in practice or gameplay
  • Parents and spectators are asked to social distance while spectaing
  • Players should social distance as much as possible when not competing, this includes but not limited to
    • Before practice
    • After practice
    • while on the sidelines
  • Masks are not mandatory but advised by AHS for spectators, and players not participating
    • players will not wear masks during practice
  • Indoor games will have rules that will be set out by the facility, which we will need to adhere by as well
  • Attendance will be taken before each club gathering to ensure we are able to track and trace any Covid symptoms
